Surfing Google Maps looking for historical Chinese American communities in the American West and stumbled upon a place labeled ‘Chinatown’ in northwest Nevada that is literally in the middle of nowhere. There is no inhabited nor abandoned town nearby and the closest place to it is the site of Burning Man festival in Black Rock Desert, which is to the south. However, I haven’t come across any mention of a Chinese presence in this area of Nevada in my research. Zoomed in on Google Earth to get a better look. Although partially obscured by the desert greenery, there appears to be structures at the location.
